As the Events Business Manager I was responsible for the management of the Events Team including the development of the portfolio of events. I also held the role of Ride Director for the Great Victorian Bike Ride which was responsible for all details relating to the event.Achievements and Responsibilities- Investigate and research the events portfolio to develop a five year strategy that was to focus on the growth of the existing events in the portfolio. Over this time all events saw substantial growth.- Implemented a marketing and sales strategy that led to a ticket sale increases that saw each event achieve record numbers and surplus.- Negotiated long term partnerships with contractors including catering, transport, marquee and security resulting in savings of in excess of $300K. - Created new revenue streams through new partnerships and leveraging existing relationships. - Implemented a free bike initiative on events that saw over 12,000 bikes given away. - Won the category of Significant Events and Festivals at the 2004 Victorian Tourism Awards for the Great Victoria Bike Ride.- Introduced a new food service process on the events that significantly reduced risk.- Introduced a site set up procedure that allowed the campsites to be ready by 12pm each day rather than 2pm previously. - Lead and oversaw the continued develop of specialised event equipment to improve safety on events and reduce turnaround times.- Introduced a volunteer teams on the Great Vic to reduce the number of riders having to retire each day. This initiative saw retired riders reduce by 50%. - Used my experience in managing the Volunteer Program to increase the focus on volunteers across the whole organization. This lead to improved recruitment of volunteers with over subscription to the Great VictoiranVictorian Bike Ride.- Delivered the largest Great Victorian Bike Ride with over 8000 riders in 2004.
