I have over 8 years of marine engineering experience within the Royal Fleet Auxiliary on a wide variety of vessels ranging from Hospital ships, Solid Support ships, through to Oil Tankers. I have worked on a multitude of different mechanical systems from pumps, engines, ROs, lifts, STPs, to hotel services, and more recently as a Pressure Control Craftsperson within the Gas Sector working for Scotia Gas Network with pressure regulators and safety cut off equipment.As a Pressure Control Maintenance Engineer within SGN, and as a Leading Hand Motorman within the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, I know how important it is for putting safety first. I am familiar with following procedures, tag-outs, and the paperwork that goes alongside the maintenance of equipment. I am trained in Mechanical and Electrical engineering to NVQ Level 3. I am involved in planned maintenance; the planning, implementing, and delegation of Maximo/UMMs generated tasks ensuring safety is paramount and all permit to work orders are correct, as well as reactive maintenance; reporting, addressing and bringing on and switching systems before off loading problem machinery to then investigate and rectify. Furthermore, I have managed inventory control for the hotel services in my department when with the RFA; Pre planning for short, and long-term deployments, stocktaking, and ordering parts and materials to meet the operational needs of the ship. In addition to my engineering experience, I am highly trained to react in any given emergency, as I have received the best training from military establishments to become a team leader of the ships emergency response team, being trained in fire fighting, enclosed space rescue, MES controller and sweeper, first aid and being HV competent.
