I have always had a real passion for working with children, whether it’s inside the classroom or in a sports setting. During my time as a teaching assistant at the Berkeley Academy I furthered my education while at the same time taking on new challenges and roles within the school. Through collaborative teaching and covering classes across the school I gained experience and knowledge of different pedagogy. This led me to be certain that a career in teaching children was for me.One of my roles within Berkeley Academy was to support children with learning difficulties which enabled me to train and learn about different educational needs. During this time I was also approached by a close friend’s family to support their child who has autism on weekends. I was honoured to do this and I stayed his PA up until I started my PGCE.I have shown a commitment to both the pupils and schools I have worked with through organising sports groups, class assemblies and committing extra time to benefit the children, parents and colleges.
