- Synthesized and studied electronic materials from semiconducting polymers to graphene nanoribbons (GNR) from a bottom up topochemical photopolymerization utilizing SEM, GIXD, PXRD and UV-VIS-IR as characterization techniques.- Direct collaboration with Tolbert, Schwartz and Kaner groups to scale up GNR synthesis for industrial applications by development of a plug flow recrystallization reactor from an Arduino microcontroller platform.

Assisted a synthetic chemistry group formulate a new type of photochemical reaction, worked on publishing our results and was selected for an Honors Research Fellowship through the commonwealth honors college.

- Received a National Science Foundation grant through the Research Experience for Undergraduates program.- Developed a new method of analyzing micelles that quench the fluorescence of typical pyrene analysis methods and synthesized novel star polymer H2S delivery vehicles using RAFT and ROMP in a grafting through approach.

Assisted in trail maintenance and animal care for seven regional parks including the historic Balls Bluff Battlefield.

Directed operation of a 600 person auditorium for a variety of religious, social and live events. As head technician, it was my job to train staff, coordinate and plan for new and routine events as well as maintain, inventory and repair any audio or lighting equipment. Coordination of staff included system planning and troubleshooting of the audio and lighting systems.

Assisted the Langley School District German Department providing voluntary and paid tutoring for middle and high school students in addition to organizing the first German language after school program supported by the middle school. As the German department treasurer, I helped organize a German student exchange program between American students on the east coast and German students near Frankfurt.
