Performing data annotation to help train AI models

• Managed multiple research projects leading to a total of eight published research articles, including three as first author • Contributed to three collaborative research efforts, which resulted in peer-reviewed publications and/or new funded projects• Contributed preliminary data and to the drafting and editing process for ca. eight proposals, including five that were funded• Co-authored two review articles, both as collaborations across two or more labs • Setup and established standard operating protocols for a new academic laboratory• Synthesized, purified, and characterized peptides, then used isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) to determine the strongest binders to model toxic peptides• Conjugated peptides to polymers to design novel therapeutics for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; characterized conjugates using transmission electron microscopy, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), size exclusion chromatography, and dynamic light scattering• Instrument manager for an automated peptide synthesizer and ITC instrument, including establishing initial SOPs, troubleshooting, and training users• Redesigned the sequence of a common peptide biomaterial motif to make it amenable to stereochemistry-directed interactions, increasing binding strength (measured by ITC) and enzymatic stability (measured by HPLC)• Extensive experience optimizing analytical-scale and preparative-scale HPLC methods• Assessed temperature-dependent secondary structure stability of antimicrobial peptides using circular dichroism spectroscopy • Mentored two undergraduate students in research projects• Graduate teaching assistant for the Transport Processes I: Momentum Transfer course• Member of the Letteri Lab Sustainability Committee and Safety Committee

• Rewrote code for and tested ergonomics of a robotic arm that connects to power wheelchairs and assists in user transfers • Out of 20 REU students, I was among three selected by peers and REU advisors to present at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories State of the Science Symposium, a 1-day outreach workshop for the community
