The Livestock Vaccine Innovation Fund (LVIF) is a new C$ 57 million initiative funded by Global Affairs Canada, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the International Development Research Centre. The research funded will develop new knowledge and innovations to facilitate the use by smallholder farmers of quality vaccines to reduce the burden of livestock diseases in South Asia, South-east Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Fund promotes the partnership between private and public sector organizations to conduct research on the development, production and commercialization of livestock vaccines to smallholder farmers.
