In the World Endurance Championship (WEC), we are currently involved with two teams, and we serve as the official supplier for WRC’s hybrid system.I contribute to the team as Thermal Management and Fluid Dynamics Engineer. I am responsible for the design, simulations and optimization of cooling systems for our Motors and Inverters. With a hands-on approach spanning design, analysis, and manufacturability, my work includes:- Thermal, Fluid, and Heat Transfer Calculations: Execute analytical heat transfer calculations, as well as pressure losses rough estimations.- CFD Simulations: Leverage Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, and ParaView to perform detailed thermal and fluid simulations.- Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Conduct FEA simulations in Abaqus to assess cooling system resilience under operational pressures, ensuring high reliability and durability.- Data Analysis and Python Automation: Employ Python to automate data extraction, pre-/post-processing tasks, and implement custom OpenFOAM utilities for streamlined workflows.- CAD Design with CATIA V5: Develop CAD models and technical drawings, ensuring manufacturability through collaboration with production teams.
