About Vincent Mayer

From a very early age I was attracted to the creative process and manual labor, but it wasn’t until I reached the end of the first year of PhD in biology that I finally allowed myself to honor this deep desire. I then undertook a three-year training course in woodcraft techniques in order to achieve my goal of becoming a furniture maker.My unconventional career path allows me to approach cabinet making with a mind freed from the traditional education constraints. If I favor the furniture as an aesthetic object that adorns an interior, my concern is to produce practical and useful furniture. Modern manufacturing techniques like 3D printing and laser cutting, allow me to make handcrafted products with a new approach, without detaching from the pleasure brought by working with wood, my favorite material.
