Dr Vincent Cheyo Msadala is a civil engineer with a specific interest in the design, management and planning of water resources as well as implementation of climate resilient WASH infrastructure. Vincent’s technical expertise and leadership skills have earned him the ability to provide technical advice and oversight support to water supply, sanitation, irrigation, and water resources management projects. Among his peers, he is recognized for strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to support multidisciplinary teams in design and implementation processes including liaison with Government ministries, departments, agencies, Government stakeholders, project teams, local and international consultants and contractors.A graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, Vincent obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering in 2016 and an MSc degree in 2009. Vincent obtained a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Malawi in 2006. As a resilience-minded civil engineer with over 15 years of experience in academia, public and private sectors in Malawi and Southern Africa; he has been involved in the drafting of Malawi’s guidelines for climate resilient road and water infrastructure. He has published numerous works, including guidelines, design manuals and reports, as well as conference and journal papers. Vincent is involved in feasibility studies, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects in the fields of water resources development and management; disaster risk management; climate risk assessment; climate adaptation and mitigation; water supply systems analysis and design; WASH; Environmental Impact Assessment; hydraulic structures design; sedimentation studies; hydrometeorology, flood hydrology and flood risk assessment.Vincent is a registered Graduate Engineer (No 945) with the Malawi Engineering Institution.
