Ensures that Pharmacists in area of responsibility comply with all federal, state and local laws as well as standards pertaining to the pharmacy. Provides professional, developmental and technical guidance and support to Pharmacists. Manages the company’s pharmacy marketing, quality control and inventory optimization programs. Optimizes pharmacy sales and profit.Manages the pharmacy marketing program that includes but is not limited to patient counseling, doctor detailing, patient recruiting, identifying levels of generic substitutions and developing price structuring and in-store screening programs. Works with the District Manager to ensure standards are adhered to as they pertain to the practice of pharmacy within the storesCommunicates corporate programs to Pharmacists (e.g. store bonus program, etc.). Provides status updates and keeps Pharmacists informed of personnel policies and procedures. Seeks out opportunities relative to the pharmacy acquisition program.Ensures professional quality control standards are maintained through control of misfills (identifying and correcting the causes), optimization of process flow and communication of professional pharmacy practices. Ensures Rx inventory optimization by monitoring store inventories and sales. Markets to Third Party Organizations.Participates in the recruitment of Pharmacists and assists with college recruiting. Establishes procedures to follow through and obtain feedback on the recruiting process from initial interview through placement. Implements training programs involving interns, extern's and newly hired Pharmacists. Selects trainers for the intern/extern programs and identifies stores to be used for training.Works with the HR Business Partner in the areas of performance appraisal, salary management, succession planning and training. Attends professional conferences as a participant and/or a speaker. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

Accountable for the management, oversight and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy within the store, including pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability and loss prevention.Help patients and customers by soliciting information about a customer’s medical history and providing counseling when appropriate. Communicate and collaborate with all healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and optimal patient care, including offering and providing clinical services, such as immunizations and health screenings.Responsible for the development and performance management of all Pharmacy Staff (comprised of both staff Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians), identification of critical business opportunities, establishing meaningful solutions to drive performance and growth; and successfully implement those plans by managing the Pharmacy Staff to accomplish these goals. Led & directed the Pharmacy Staff as well as be responsible for the training and development of the Pharmacy Staff; including providing a performance review and evaluation of Staff Pharmacists, Interns, and Technicians, according to scheduled review process. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for making or effectively recommending all Pharmacy Staff human resources decisions. Ensured Pharmacy Staff compliance with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations and CVS policy/procedures at all times.In addition, performed the standard duties of a pharmacist, to include compounding and dispensing medications issued by authorized medical practitioners; addressing clinical effects of drugs, providing counseling, and assisting patients in managing medical conditions. Communicated with customers and patients regarding their confidential health and drug information; and maintain and manage daily and weekly reports to drive business and the healthcare needs of the patients.
