With over 20 years of experience in education and consulting, I am passionate about facilitating meaningful learning experiences that honor the dignity, agency, and identity of students and educators. I am the founder and director of the Equity Institute, a national collective of equity consultants that provides attentive, deeply researched, and customized services to schools and school districts.My practice is rooted in experiential education with a focus on culturally responsive pedagogy, trauma-informed systems, juvenile justice reform, family engagement, near-peer mentorship, and Latinx bilingual leadership. I have founded and led several successful programs and initiatives, such as Rethink Manhood, La Cima, and Dare to Dream Academies, that aim to foster healing, liberation, and empowerment for youth and service providers.
