Recruited to lead and enhance the effectiveness of the IT team serving the Prisoners of War Missing in Action (POWMIA) Office under the Secretary of Defense. Improved service to the client and strengthened team effectiveness by stabilizing the networks, restoring confidence in system integrity and helping to unify the team. Led IT team in successfully completing network and Microsoft 2003 system migrations, resulting in better system integrity, enhanced communications and better fault tolerance for the organization. Increased management reporting efficiency by providing technical consultation to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).Spearheaded centralized data management to resolve backup time issues and position the organization for disaster recovery. Designed, implemented and maintained a Secure Remote Virtual Private Network (VPN) for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), eliminating inefficiencies and security concerns with existing enclaves. Implemented the Defense Messaging System (DMS) on cluster servers for the Global Command Control Center (GCCS) of; , leading to wider use of DMS on cluster servers throughout DOD.Successfully designed and implemented a centralized/decentralized VPN solution to replace an existing inefficient system that supported 7,000 customers across 16 organizations and 16 different networks without loss of service.Configured and maintained more than 30 Cisco routers, concentrators and Cisco Secure ACS servers to provide and sustain the VPN solution. Provided engineering support on the various firewalls, Checkpoint, Sidewinder, Gauntlet, Cyberguard and PIX in resolving VPN issues. Implemented the first GCCS server that served as the prototype for the ANG DMS configuration. Developed detailed design changes for message routing of cluster servers and enhanced the fail-over performance to meet customer specifications.

Stabilized, redesigned and transitioned a heterogeneous Novell 4.1 LAN / WAN 200 node network to New Jersey for the United States Army enabling continuous network support in the face of a base closing.
