Gloucester Quays £200million Regeneration Project.Duties in this period involved working alongside the Client Bovis Lendlease in close liaison with the design team/Structural engineers for design and procurement of works proposed. This was due to no scope only ideas being put forward by the client/design team and in turn required prompt budgeting forwarded to the PQS. Cubitt, although main-contractor in its own right was acting as a sub-contractor who in turn formed a partnership agreement/relationship with Bovis and went from securing a £69k refurbishment small works package to a £6m final account through 1200 variations.Range of works went from making good of existing structures to supply and installation of all brick and block work (£1.5m variation negotiated) through to extensive cut and carving of existing structures across a 26 acre site and approx 8 buildings/internal sites. Extensive propping works (approx £300k) was a key part of our success on this project working alongside Maybee Hire Ltd.Responsibilities on a daily basis ranged from creating schedule of works/cost plans and attending all programme and design meetings then following this through to procurement and setting up all Pre-contract meetings/orders and relevant payments/valuations on a fortnightly basis.Cost Value Reconciliation Reports were provided back to head office monthly and I was site based for the full period which involved over night accommodation once week due to travelling times.Whilst there, I developed existing systems in order to keep up to speed with the day to day running of the surveying issues and was responsible for all commercial/financial decisions made at site level through to agreement of the final account.

Duties in this period involved all aspects of a company with regards to organising labour through to pricing and controlling all aspects of numerous projects.Many goals were achieved and targets surpassed, due to conforming on some projects to a perfect delivery scheme which involved snag free painting works controlled through me with close liaising with clients (Main Contractors) and all site staff at site level.Projects that I was solely responsible for the day to day running of ranged from £20k to £350k noting labour levels ranged from a hand full of staff up to teams of 30 plus men, which required targets/prices for work set and targets regarding programme achieved. Repex was where I saw an opportunity to enter an up and coming company to be bought in to develop younger surveyors and demonstrate how to implement standardised documents and to revamp the surveying side of the company.All of this gained the company status to compete on a level playing field with already reconised companies and to achieve goals in training younger surveyors in measurement and progress their carriers forward due to no development being put in place.Whilst at Repex the value of projects ranged from 100k to 1million refurbishment based packages, working with London councils and numerous private clients.

The beginning of my involvement within the construction industry I secured a position as an Assistant Surveyor with Crispin and Borst Ltd. The majority of my work involved the usual daily work load of completing and sending out enquiries, through to placing of subcontract orders. After such time I moved up and was heavily involved in the measurement side, which has been an asset ever since. I made Contract Surveyor where I started off running projects with the Senior Surveyor guiding my way through to running projects on my own. This then grew and found myself hungrier for a challenge and to set myself higher goals.Project ranged from 500k Refurb project in Walthamstow; YMCA Stockwell 2.1million; Greenwich GP 1.2million; Fulham Hospital external refurb 2.0million; and the alike through to 3.5million pound refurb package of St Barts Hospital which accrued approx 72 sub-contractors from all walks of life of which approx 50 were re-measureable.Forms of contract were: NEC, JCT 1998 with our without quantities, D&B contracts, GC/Works 1 and numerous others which required adaptation due to client alterations to the main contract.
