In Chemicals; I audited the Production Business Unit. In EP; Finance Readiness, Payroll Implementation and EP Blueprint Embedding. The above audits were performed in various locations; North and South America, Europe and Africa.

I managed the JD Edwards Financial Accounting system. I received 3 consecutive bonuses (one month salary in each case) from Go live of JD Edwards Financials Re-implementation in Ghana in January 2002.I successfully managed and coordinated a diversified team of consultants and local staff to re-implement JD Edwards Financial package in Shell Ghana between September 2001 and March 2002. We passed the Health Check and went live January 2, 2003 as planned. This involved supervising activities of the re-implementation and ensuring that targets were achieved timely. I planned and coordinated the re-training of all staff in the JDE software. I liaised with management and gave constant feedback on the project. Also as Focal point for the General Ledger (GL) module, I re-designed and aligned the Reference Files (i.e. Chart of Accounts, Business Units etc) to the Group and West & Central African Hub Template standard, whilst meeting the fiscal needs. I also trained staff in the GL processes.

There were five main functional areas within Treasury that I managed, namely; Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Cash and Bank, Payroll, Staff Loans Accounting and Insurance. In addition to the above duties, I managed effects of exchange rate (not derivative), produced Cash Forecast, negotiated with the banks on charges and interest rates and also (together with the Finance Manager) arranged overdraft/loan facilities. I revised the Shell Ghana Treasury Policies and Procedures to ensure it was up to date and in line with the Shell Group Policy and Guidelines, which was reviewed by the Finance Manager and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors in 1998.
