    Ink Scale-Up Manager
Sensient Technologies Corporation Jul 2015 - Jan 2017
    Letchworth Garden City
Sensient Technologies Corporation is a leading global manufacturer of colours, flavours and fragrances, with over 4,000 employees worldwide and $1.38 billion revenue in 2015. The inkjet inks are part of the Sensient Colors group, who purchased Xennia Technology in July 2015.Closely aligned with the R&D and production teams to ensure smooth and successful transfer of lab scale concepts to full production scale products, including identifying & sourcing the correct manufacturing equipment, writing clear Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring initial production batches and ensuring Quality Control testing is completed to the expected standards. My focus on team work and understanding people is key to the successful transfer to the production team, resulting in a right first time ratio increase from 57% to 92% with the initial Scale-Up batches, therefore saving considerable time and expense for both R&D and production teams.

  • Xennia Technology
    Ink Productisation Manager
    Xennia Technology Jul 2011 - Nov 2013
    Letchworth
Similar to my current Ink Scale-Up Manager role, as the Ink Productisation Manager at Xennia my role consisted of enabling a smooth transfer of products from the chemists to the manufacturing plant. In this role I was part of the R&D team and involved at all stages of the development to ensure the products being developed were scalable and commercially viable from the production point of view.I partnered with a number of key industry machine suppliers including Netzsch, Buhler, Silverson and Dispermat to align the processes in the lab with the ones in manufacturing. I was also instrumental in moving the R&D team away from sourcing raw materials from fine chemical suppliers like Aldrich to industrial supplied chemicals while maintaining the quality to the highest level. In some cases the industrial supplied chemicals were less than 100th of the price of the fine chemical supplier.
