  • Nestlé Health Science
Global Clinical Development Lead (Onco, Acute Care, Cardiovascular And Muscle Related Conditions)
Nestlé Health Science Dec 2018 - Oct 2024
    Vers-Chez-Les-Blanc, Vaud, Ch
I was appointed “global clinical development lead” for acute care including cardiology, oncology and muscle related conditions. My focus was clinical development and BD support. I build several "evidence development plan" for various molecular entities (synthetic, natural). It implied cross-functional discussions with both R&D and market access (including focus groups). Specifically: - Cardiology: I led the Nestlé team that acquired an exclusive license for a new galectin-3 inhibitor (G-Pharmaceuticals) for heart failure. This G3 inhibitor of fibrosis process was at the pre-clinical stage. After the acquisition, I joined the steering committee and the project team. Together with G3 pharmaceuticals CEO, I designed the first in man study: a Single Ascending Dose (SAD) followed by a Multiple Ascending Dose (MAD). - Muscle related conditions: Nestlé is very active in the field of muscle related conditions and has a full R&D department working on muscle physiology. a) Muscle injury: Together with RD, I designed, wrote synopsis and protocol for a First In Man/Proof Of Concept study in a model of muscle injury in healthy volunteers. This model include the provocation of a muscle with electrostimulation followed by muscle biopsies. Nicotinamide (NAM) and Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) on Muscle Regeneration (NCT04874662) b) Mitochondria co-factor: I designed a FIM with muscle biopsies in healthy volunteers for a co-factor used by mitochondria for the production of energy. Together with an expert in PK/PD modeling (I recruited him), we set-up a PK model for single and multiple doses simulations.- Aging: I launched a POC clinical trial in a CRO in Germany. I acted as a medical monitor. I visited the CRO and performed the initiation visit with the CRA. I assessed the Adverse Events during the course of the study.- Dysphagia. Together with Professor Pere Clavè, I designed a study in 2 parts for assessing the effectiveness of TickenClear for dysphagia (NCT04741581).

"Clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy, data science, pharmacovigilance and good clinical practice compliance in the field of Antibiotic Multi Resistant bacteria (AMR) and phage therapy. Under the direction of Gunther Vanwezer CEO, I helped as CMO Vésale Bioscience to revisit its clinical development for its phagogram named Luminophage (IVDR) and its overall clinical development plan. I also gave some regulatory advice for phage therapy "access to market" working closely with the head of marketing (CCO - Philippe Ghem). It was a great experience with a fantastic team fighting against antibiotic multiresistant bacterias."

  • Only For Children Pharmaceuticals (O4Cp)
Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer (Orphan Pediatric - Acute Lympohobastic Leukemia)
    Only For Children Pharmaceuticals (O4Cp) 2007 - Sep 2014
During my Executive MBA at ESSEC, I founded Only for Chlidren Pharmaceuticals (O4CP). The company was named as I have 4 children. At O4CP, we developped a new innovative device called "the shaker". The value proposition was "to give to the children the drug they need, with the taste they like, with pediatric security". We designed and patented this device with 2 caps. After having obtained orphan designations in EMA and US, we explored a methotrexate liquid formulation in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This program was largely funded by a Frame Program 7 grant named "Loulla&Philla". It is noticeable that the Loulla&Philla received the best mark 15/15 on its evaluation: 5 for the innovation, 5 for its consortium and 5 for the expected impact. We also engaged in the development of an IV formulation for neonatal seizures. The program was also funded. I am grateful of Alice Nolla (Responsible Pharmacist), Morgan Danvel (Project Manager) and Estelle Habert-Ortoly (Business Manager) who engaged in this start-up adventure. O4CP was not a commercial success. It had many positive outcomes: publications, IP, people development (Alice acquired her “type B” pharmacist license; many young pharmacist were trained to pediatric development), development of quality systems (GMP, GCP), several orphan designations, IPO preparation and much more.
