To me, leadership is more than crunching numbers and telling people to "up your activity" - although, those are important, too. To me, leadership is helping people grow and accel by nurturing the skills they already possess, developing the ones they struggle with and introducing ones they may not be accustom to. It's about building relationships + trust through listening and a thorough understanding of (personal + professional) goals/motivators. It's about putting your team in a position to succeed through vision, education, process, technology, timing, and execution. At the end of the day, it's about caring. If your team knows you care about them and will do everything in your power to help them achieve their dreams, they will run through walls for you. That's been my experience, and that's who I am.
