A business owner since 1997, I currently serve as President of VWORLD SAS, a company which was incorporated in 2004 in order to exploit the proprietary rights of VWorldTerrain© technology, a technology which I invented in another life, back in the days I was working in the Video Game industry. The idea was to produce large outdoor terrains automatically out of original procedural algorithms, to which real-world Observation (satellite & aerial) data were soon injected so as to produce true-to-life landscapes. This rapidly expanded into rebuilding the entire surface of the Earth in real-time 3D, and allowed the release, in 2001, of the first “virtual Earth” atlas for the general public - the Eingana software-, in the Edutainment sector. On this technology foundation VWORLD has progressively expanded its in-house produced vieWTerra suite of GIS & Simulation 3D/4D Earth Viewer software on all platforms, as well as whole-Earth Imagery, DEM, and Land Cover database products. Today our Geospatial & Simulation know-how is recognized by world-famous actors across different industries, and we are counting a diversified portfolio of corporate and academic clients in Aeronautics, Space, Defence & Civil Security/ Disaster Management, Energy, Geosciences and Education.
