Multi-disciplinary creative based in Haarlem. Studio GAAR helps businesses, brands and artists develop and improve their on- and offline presence by creating next level visual concepts, graphic designs and motion productions.
Originally hired as a freelance motion designer, I quickly earned a permanent place at Dancefoundation, where I created (online) video content for amongst others Armada Music, Armin van Buuren, Josh Gabriel and DJ Hardwell. Work soon expanded to print and product design, as well as online interaction design. Combining these elements allowed me to develop and create complete concepts like Armin van Buuren's yearly A State of Trance celebrations, which included animated video content (online and on event), print design for promotion, event signing design and an exclusive live broadcast platform.Dancefoundation was co-owned partly by Armada Music, one of the biggest dance labels in the world, and partly by Cloud 9 Music, a global music publisher and label for dutch artists like Nick & Simon, Shary-An and Thomas Berge. Later redubbed to "Faktory6", it also shifted focus to a broader client base. For me, this meant working for a wide array of clients and artists.
During my studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague I worked at the local arthouse cinema.

For my internship in 2006 I worked at studio Job Rompa in Rotterdam. Currently sporting three man design studio Het Echte Werk, Job is and was a major supplier for designs in cultural Rotterdam. I was blessed to have a hectic and assignment-heavy internship at this studio, creating work for amongst others Theater Hal 4, Waterfront, Zuidelijk Toneel and Reload Magazine.
