About Vincent Ryan
I am a fully qualified and accredited (IACP) counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice. I see clients via self-referral and thorough a number of mental health organisations. These organisations include the HSE, Coisceim, HealthHero, and The Lighthouse Club.I adapt my approach depending on the client I am seeing. Overall I take a client-centred approach and I integrate a number of models in how I practice. These approaches include Person-Centred Counselling, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, trauma-Informed treatment, and Polyvagal Theory. Where appropriate (e.g. EAP work) I adopt a brief, solution-focused approach with a clear focus on immediate client goals.I also lecture part-time in ICHAS on two modules: Contemporary Discourses in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Theoretical Perspectives in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
