 Grew Publishing Group revenues 9-17 percent every year, even in teeth of major economic downturn. Propelled Events business from $33K annually to $750K in two years. Created new proprietary e-commerce online sites that brought in nearly $1 million annually, increased advertising revenues by 8%, and reduced need for personnel by 20%. In two years, grew our real estate sales business to newspapers 80%.  Expanded company into new geographies (Maryland, Virginia, Penn.). Created six new profitable trade association magazines in the span of just 18 months.

Editor of Hartford Business Journal. Oversaw complete redesign of publication in a 90-day period. Introduced new features, columns, columnists. Pre-redesign, advertising revenues were flat with previous year. After redesign, advertising posted dramatic gains, and newspaper recorded its best revenue year ever. Editorial department came in under budget two years in a row, while earning nearly two-dozen national and regional awards for excellence in journalism, the most ever won by the HBJ.Launched new online version of Hartford Business Journal, including strengthening push email news products. Online revenue increased four-fold over previous year. Online metrics - number of unique visitors monthly - increased ten-fold within five months, coming in better than national averages. Set strategy for new websites and email products for Worcester Business Journal and Mainebiz. In 2007, was given oversight of circulation for Hartford and Worcester Business Journals. Stabilized overall circulation, grew paid and requester counts, improved customer service and achieved record circ revenue.Editorial Director of Worcester Business Journal. Hired entire new editorial team. Set strategy for redesign of publication. Launched redesign on schedule and under budget.

Consistently grew revenues every year. By focusing on basic selling techniques, new product development and strong community involvement, from 2000 to 2006, advertising revenues grew 34%, to record levels.Stabilized circulation, improved customer service and achieved record circulation revenue, even in years of declining economy.Led business to record bottom line profits. Law Tribune was consistently in the red for most of its existence. It reported profits every year of my leadership.Created numerous ancillary products, including monthly Western Mass. Law Tribune, quarterly GC New England magazine, and monthly Conn. Tech Tribune. Developed newsletters, seminars and events.Created company's paid web site, and developed several electronic products, including email decision summaries for attorneys.Assumed all educational programming responsibilities for the Conn. Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Partnership allowed us to reward our advertisers via first opportunities for seminar sponsorships, while company grew its live educational offerings from one seminar per year to more than a dozen.

Responsible for flagship products, Banker & Tradesman and The Commercial Record newspapers, in Mass. and Conn. respectively. Sales growth averaged more than 30 percent annually.Created custom-publishing division for trade-association groups. In three years, developed 12 magazines and newspapers, serving banking, mortgage and real estate groups from Maine to New Jersey.Created Warren Events division, specializing in highly profitable seminars and trade shows. BankWorld is now largest banking industry show in the northeast.
