Researcher at Industrial Engineering Department (Aerospace division) of University of Naples Federico II, I got the PhD degree in April 2020. In early 2019, with other researchers of the DAF research group, we found SMARTUP ENGINEERING, an innovative startup company which main activities are support to design, development and testing of innovative airborne platforms, and development of software for industrial and scientific applications. The research topic of my PhD dealt with the feasibility assessment of an innovative turboprop aircraft (a three-lifting surface configuration with rear engine installation) and its competitiveness on the aircraft regional market. The assessment of static longitudinal stability including propulsive effects, and the detailed investigation of interference phenomena among the three lifting surfaces were performed by means of high fidelity analysis, CFD-RANS and wind tunnel tests. Furthermore, a complete analysis of the Direct Operating Costs were performed to answer the question related to the aircraft competitiveness on regional market. All activities are framed in the Innovative turbopROp configuratioN (IRON) project that complies with the European Union topic Green and cost-efficient Conceptual Aircraft Design including Innovative Turbo-Propeller Power-plant as part of the Clean Sky 2. Previously, I received the master's degree with honour in Aerospace Engineering in the March 2014, and since then I have been a Consultant at the same Department. The main research topics are Aircraft Design, Applied Aerodynamics and Software Engineering. I was involved in different projects in collaboration with several industrial and academic partners such as LEONARDO, CIRA, GE AVIO, DLR, Polytechnic of Turin and University of Rome.

Phd StudentUniversity Of Naples Federico Ii Feb 2017 - Apr 2020Napoli, ItaliaThe research topic concerns the implementation of modern design methodologies and tools for the aircraft optimization useful in conceptual and preliminary phases. As well as classical aircraft design aspects such as aerodynamics, weights and balance, the work is focused also on other multidisciplinary and significant aspects for the certification such as costs, noise and emissions. -

InternUniversity Of Naples Federico Ii Apr 2013 - Mar 2014Napoli, ItaliaCFD aerodynamic investigation of a modular model of the a regional turboprop fuselage with 90 seats. The numerical approach involves the study of different fuselage components (nose, cabin and tailcone) to identify trends in aerodynamic coefficients with geometrical parameters. Development of a new methodology for the evaluation of aerodynamic characteristics of the fuselage of a generic turboprop transport aircraft. -
InternUniversity Of Naples Federico Ii Mar 2010 - Feb 2011Napoli, ItaliaAnalysis of flow patterns around various configurations of circular cylinders evenly spaced through two-dimensional numerical simulations. In particular, the analysis involves the study of the vortex shedding and the forces acting on the cylinders. The aim was to analyze different configurations to study the behavior in terms of aerodynamic forces. Some results of numerical simulations were compared with results obtained with a numerical code based on the Lattice Boltzmann method developed at Tianjin University.
