As the Data Science Director at Tenaris, I started and lead a team that applies advanced data analytics, visual analytics, statistical and machine learning modeling and optimization to support operations, drive process improvement and inform investment decisions. We designed and implemented the Tenaris Data Lake for industrial data and we have launched over dozens of data products. These products are used by over 200 internal clients at our main production plants. In October 2023, we began integrating Generative AI into our operations, and we’ve already deployed three use cases to support marketing and human resources. We are also on the verge of releasing an innovative system utilizing agentic architecture, enabling us to ask and answer descriptive and diagnostic questions related to our industrial processes in real-time.Since 2021 I have been an Adjunct Professor at Università degli Studi di Bergamo, where I teach the course of Data Analysis for Business Analytics. Since 2018, I am a member of the Advisory Board of the Big Data and Business Analytics observatory at the Politecnico di Milano. In addition to that, I give courses, seminars, and workshops on big data, data science, and machine learning.I have a strong background in technical and scientific fields. I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Università degli Studi di Bergamo, and earned my PhD in Information Technology from the Politecnico di Milano, where I specialized in data-driven models for behavior analysis. During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at SAP Labs France and at the SENSEable City Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.I am the author of 19 scientific publications and hold 5 patents.
