Fundraising, communication, marketing strategy and organizational development are the core areas of my work at Hoffnungszeichen | Sign of Hope e.V., a fast growing, midsize German organization active in the fields of humanitarian aid, development cooperation and human rights. In addition to public fundraising in various forms (from database and direct marketing through online fundraising up to major gifts and legacies) I am responsible for the public relations work (from outdoor advertising to press contacts) as well as donors service and donations accounting. Since 2017 I was able to outperform the income goals set for my department every year. Further milestones of my time as Head of Fundraising and Communication are the introduction of a new fundraising and CRM software, the strong expansion of online and cross-media communication, the development of the areas of major gifts and legacy fundraising as well the gradual orientation of fundraising efforts towards younger target groups. As Head of Department, I also played a key role in shaping human resources development, digitization, and interfaces with project units and content (humanitarian aid, development cooperation, human rights), and worked intensively on cross-departmental issues (transparency, finance) both with German and international colleagues (mainly in Eastern Africa).

My mission as Entrepreneurship Network Officer was to support university startup founders through providing them valuable contacts in the business and entrepreneurship ecosystem (mainly, but not exclusively, in and around Munich). Well over one hundred experts (CEOs, managers, entrepreneurs) served as mentors in the Startup Mentoring Program I built and ran at TUM.

The main goal of the position was to consolidate the image of TUM as one of the most attractive centers of science and research in Europe. This was done by setting up a Alumni Program especially targeting foreign guest researchers willing to serve as multiplicators for TUM in their respective countries.
