Working with Bayer's Machine Learning Research group under the supervision of Dr. Floriane Montanari and Dr. Okko Clevert.Projects: Predictions of interfering compounds for hits de-prioritization in early drug discovery.Principal responsibilities:• Data analysis and pre-processing of large-scale pharmaceutical data (mainly High-Throughput-Screening historical data)• Statistical modelling of bioactivity distributions from primary screening data.• Training and testing machine learning and deep learning models (from random forests to graph neural networks) to identify problematic scaffolds.• Bridging communication between industrial and academic partners.

Project carried out within the Svergun Group @ EMBL Hamburg.Master's Thesis Project:Deep Learning based shape classification of biological macromolecules from Small Angled X-ray Scattering data.Principal responsibilities:• Data analysis of simulated SAXS profiles from PDB assemblies • Feature selection and data scaling• Design and implementation of multiple Artificial Neural Networks for multi-class classification (Tensorflow)

Internship carried out in the Bioorganic Chemistry laboratory of 'Toso Montanari' Department of Industrial Chemistry.Bachelor's thesis project:Synthesis of Novel Structural Hybrids between Aza-Heterocycles and Azelaic Acid Moiety with a Specific Activity on Osteosarcoma Cells.Principal responsibilities:• Find new synthetic pathways• Synthesis and purification of new Heterocyclic compounds• Characterization by NMR and ESI (MS)• Biological tests directed to find a possible molecular target for a hypothetical medical use.
