Reporting to the CEO, led all fiduciary and financial affairs of Canada’s largest privately-owned distributor of medical supplies, during a period which saw a 250% increase in revenue.I maintained the completeness and integrity of financial information by communicating regularly with six distribution centers, and one retail operation, located in different provinces across the country. I managed a staff of 12 directly. On a monthly basis, I produced profit and loss statements for seven divisions along with complete consolidated financials and presented the results along with discussion and in-depth analysis to senior management and the board of directors. Annually, I produced detailed budgets along with analyses of variances to actual results for use by senior management and the board of directors in planning and executing strategy and in decision making. I was also involved with, and an enabler of, all stages of acquiring a business from letter of intent all the way through to amalgamation and integration of the target company's systems and processes into the acquirer's systems and processes. Successfully merged two acquired companies worth a total of $10mm.I maintained banking relations and ongoing correspondence with senior bank officials of Schedule A banks and led the company through major refinancing twice. This necessitated the ability to negotiate lending terms, especially those of asset based lending. I successfully negotiated a $30mm asset based lending line. I also maintained relations with outside advisers and parties such as external auditors (in preparing for year end audits and tax work), government auditors, insurance and pension consultants. This also included regulatory reporting and maintaining other legal reporting requirements in order that the company could maintain its corporation status.
