Infradawn Capital AIF is a real estate-focused Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) aimed at investors looking for portfolio diversification into the real estate sector. By offering investments in both debt and equity instruments of real estate projects, the fund would provide exposure to real estate markets that are positioned for high growth. Being registered under SEBI's AIF regulations, it would operate as a Category II AIF, which generally allows it to invest in unlisted companies, private equity, real estate, and other ventures.Category II AIFs must comply with SEBI's regulatory framework, including restrictions on leveraging, investment thresholds, and disclosure norms, ensuring a degree of risk mitigation for investors. This structure can appeal to institutional and high-net-worth investors seeking relatively stable and diversified returns.

At ANZ, I headed the Financial Operations function, managing key areas such as Accounting & Reporting, Management Reporting, Treasury, Tax, and Regulatory Compliance, while also liaising with the RBI and Tax Authorities.A significant aspect of my role involved partnering with the bank's country and regional leadership teams to drive new business ventures and strategic initiatives.

At Nomura, I led several finance projects, including the implementation of new systems, and played a key role in the rollout of new equity and equity derivatives products.I was also part of the deal team responsible for acquiring Lehman's Primary Dealership (PD) operations, overseeing the regulatory, business, and systems approvals necessary to launch this new business.

I oversaw the Financial Controllership function for Lehman's investment banking and broker-dealer operations in India. My responsibilities included managing Accounting & Reporting, Management Reporting, and Audits, as well as ensuring Regulatory Compliance, which involved interactions with the RBI and SEBI.Following Lehman's bankruptcy, I worked closely with the official liquidator and country leadership to lead several critical tasks related to winding down operations. This included managing regulatory and audit interactions, overseeing valuations, and facilitating the eventual sale of Lehman’s business operations to Nomura India.

I was responsible for overseeing the Financial Controllership function for both Goldman Sachs' back-office operations and, later, their investment banking operations in India.My role encompassed Accounting & Reporting, Management Reporting, and Audits, along with aspects of Treasury, Product Control, Tax, and Regulatory Compliance. I also managed interactions with regulatory bodies such as the RBI, SEBI, and Tax Authorities.Key achievements included:- Establishing Goldman’s back-office operations in Bangalore.- Setting up the investment banking and broker-dealer operations in Mumbai, including systems implementation and new product launches.

I was involved in several audit and tax assignments for major organizations such as Hindustan Lever, ITC, and Britannia, while also managing special accounting and tax projects for Hindustan Lever and Heinz.Key highlights during my time at PwC included:- Leading a project to migrate all Hindustan Lever units in India from their legacy chart of accounts to a global standard chart of accounts.- Establishing CENVAT procedures for Heinz’s newly established plant in India.
