After years of experience working around quality assurance, quality control, and manufacturing in the biotech field, I proudly call myself a scientist. However, I wanted to blend my professional science and research experience with my passions for art, aesthetic visuals, and human psychology. I've found the perfect blend of the two with UX and UI design.While working full-time, I earned a professional certificate in UX and UI from The University of Texas. It was during this time that I started freelancing. With each project I work on, I use my unique background as a scientist to solve problems. I use the scientific method to identify the issues, conduct experiments based on observations and data, and then communicate with others to solve those issues collaboratively.As a proudly disabled Latina, I enjoy making inclusive designs that everyone can enjoy. Many factors need to be considered when designing a product. However, I use my visual disability and my neurodivergent perspective as a tool to help combat difficulties with depth perception, overstimulation, object permanence, and many other things that other users can relate to as well. I see my "disabilities" as strengths and as a tool to better advocate for users. Beyond creating beautiful and groundbreaking designs, designers strive to create intuitive, user-centered designs that are inclusive of all.
