As an English teacher, I have had the pleasure to work with people from a variety ofbackgrounds both professionally and socially. Through this, I have learned how to adaptmyself to their needs and temperaments in order to achieve the objective.I understand the need for clear communication but also the importance of being a keenlistener. I have been trained to read between the lines, and instead of solely using theinformation which is being presented to me, I compare it to previous conversations and otherapplicable situations, to fully understand what the student, or speaker wishes to express.As a Service Manager, I have learned the need for proactive planning, in order to ensure thatan action plan is always available regardless of situation. Furthermore, I am able to use reportsand key statistics to improve the quality of service both internally and externally.By staying up to date on current events, I am able to forecast potential situations which mayaffect the business and therefore plan accordingly. I work closely with the sales team to ensurethat what we were selling can be delivered promptly and without complication. This is done ina variety of languages.In regard to myself, I am naturally curious and keen to know how processes and businesswork. It is for this reason I have conducted many classes with students of a higher professionalbackground, not only helping them present their companies, services and statistical data,which through trust and confidentiality they have shared with me. But equally helping themplan negotiations and meetings, which are aligned with their company’s objective. Togetherwe have created new business plans, and our conversations have been more akin toconsultations instead of English lessons. Through these experiences, I have been exposed to avariety of professional sectors ranging from nuclear energy to military operations, cybersecurity to international trade within the European block.
