Vinnie Viola is principal and founder of Birch Island Real Estate Consulting, LL, which provides asset management training and consulting services to investors, owners, developers and operators of affordable rental housing. Vinnie’s 30+ years’ experience spans for-profit, government, and non-profit organizations that invest in, build, manage and regulate housing for low-income families. Building on a decade with the asset management groups of two Boston-based LIHTC syndicators, Vinnie has deep expertise with best practices for monitoring performance of and managing risks with multifamily projects in all lifecycle phases. In various syndicator leadership roles, Vinnie has overseen the construction and lease-up of thousands of rental units in hundreds of investment partnerships, comprising over $1 billion in investor equity. From 2014 to 2017, Vinnie served on NAHB's Housing Credit Certified Professional Board of Governors and chaired the board's Professional Development sub-committee. Among other clients, he consults with NeighborWorks America on assessments of NWA's charter members, evaluating estate development, asset management and property management lines of business. Vinnie currently serves as full-time Director of Asset Management at Madison Park Development Corporation in the Nubian Square community of Boston, MA.
