Designed, led, and collaborated on several big data projects, which included: building and validating Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to automate meta-analysis with 88% accuracy; building mixed models to test the UN FAO’s method to monitor farmer poverty; creating a global map of farm sizes with machine learning at 10km2; and leading a research team to harmonize agricultural data from 55 countries.

Led field research teams, communicated project impacts to government ministries and funders. Projects included: value chain assessments; spatial analyses for program assessments and donor reports; biodiversity surveys and crop trials. Clients included USAID, NSF, iDE, ECHO Asia, and Penn State University.

ReBUild is a NSF Dynamics of Coupled Natural and Human Systems (CNH) five-year project. This grant was the primary source of my masters degree funding at Pennsylvania State University. Responsibilities: 1. Data management of longitudinal survey collection 2. Data analysis to integrate qualitative participatory action research data with quantitative remote sensing and structural equation models (SEM) 3. Assisted in educational outreach of project findings to education and health professionals 4. Assisted in project management and donor reporting

For several years I worked in environmental and adventure education facilitating team building and education experiences. Clients ranged from primary school classrooms to ex-convicts to corporate teams. These soft skills have aided in my more recent collaborative, and often cross-cultural work.

I was a research assistant in the Gabrieli Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory working on accelerated learning.
