And upgrading the existing 2 lane, single carriagewaylink road to dual carriageway approx. 50 km (AED 440 million)Role: Materials Engineer (Civil & Geotechnical)Duties Performed• Reviewing and approving all the material submittals.• Review and approval of materials associated with construction of MSE wall and Underpass works. • Verification and approval of suitable soil borrow materials proposed for subgrade construction works.• Review and approve asphalt mix designs and various grades of concrete mix designs• Supervising quality tests and field tests related to soil, concrete, asphalt, and all other construction materials and approving the test results.• Supervising sitewide geotechnical investigations and reviewing final factual reports.• Supervising the site labs, witnessing the lab tests, verifying lab equipment, checking the quality records and test reports.• Visiting concrete, asphalt plants and inspecting materials, plant operations and quality of production• Managing and guiding the material / qc inspector teams.

Responsible to coordinating with the designers in review , and timely approval of Materials Submittals. Ensure materials procured / used in construction were approved as per approved material submittals. Review all material test results and certify the accuracy. Coordinate with the Contractor Teams on Material procurement schedules and testing requirements. Attending Material Inspections and approving Materials. Managing 3rd party labs on site including sampling and testing as per ITPs. Check regularly Contractor’s quality process for periodical sampling/ testing, proper maintenance / operation of Concrete/Asphalt batching plants and proper storage / handling of materials and records. Raise NCRs/Site Memos for any non-compliance and follow-up timely close out of NCRs. Lead the teams responsible for performing ground treatment/improvement works by grouting. Worked closely with designer’s expert geotechnical teams and ground improvement specialist consultants/contractors during ground improvement / treatment works. Conducted weekly Progress/ Quality meetings with Client/Designers/Specialist Consultants & Contractors for the works related to Ground Treatment. Managed site wide geotechnical soil investigations and post grout treatment verification boreholes. Handled Asphalt/Concrete Pavement works including assisting in Mix design review, executing the works and performing quality tests. Managed Site Stockpiles preparation and Testing to verify compliance with project specifications.

Coordinate with design consultants and participate in preparing/reviewing specifications, materials proposed and required tests. Providing guidance to Procurement departments and assisting technical teams in selecting potential subcontractors and vendors for the materials as specified by the contract specifications/drawings. Review Material submittals from the subcontractors and prepare for Client submissions. Preparing Compliance Sheets for the Material Approvals and ensuring that they were in full compliance with Project Specifications. Organize Suppliers for Asphalt & Concrete to select suitable/ required mix as project technical specifications requirements and follow up on approval and prepare submittals for mix design approvals. Expedite Material Submissions and approvals as per plan/target. Attend Factory visits. Follow up and timely close out of action comments of Client Representative for timely approval of Material Submittals. Manage Sample rooms
