At Novartis Worked in different positions ,starting as Global Executive Director, Section Head , Distinguished Investigator Neuroscience and Sr Global Program Medical Director Neuroscience .Planned ,conducted and supervised several development programs in neuroscience for various indication resulting approvals and successful launches.Has extensive experience in drug development world wide has submitted several iNDs, NDAs, sNDAs resulting in successful approvals and launch Has experience in medical affairs issues , safety issues and meetings / presentations to health authorities specially FDA, EMA , PMDA , and virtually all the health authorities in EU . Also Had consultations with Chinese , Taiwan and Singapore to rectify local issues . Before joining industry was professor of psychiatry and Neurology at the UIC Chicago and Chief of Geriatric psychiatry at UCI and VA medical center . For several years was member of Steering committee of NIA supported AD consortium where we did several clinical trials including Vitamin E. Prednisone, Estrogen in Alzheimer’s disease . We also developed scales and even criteria required for the approval of AD which are being used by HAs world wide . Also consulted with major Pharma companies on drugs for psychiatric and neurological disorders . Served as Editor in Chief on international journal of geriatric neuropharmacology ( Nature) and associate Editor of International journal of Alzheimer’s disease and International Journal of geriatric psychiatry . In addition Coedited two major books one on Alzheimer’s Disease and other on Exosomes , stem cell and mRNA . This last book was published in 2018 .
