I am a conservationist from Sri Lanka with a keen interest in the convergence of conservation and development. My primary interest lies in the management of mixed use landscapes that border the Protected Area network and how local communities, that act as the custodians of these lands, can be incorporated into conservation interventions. Residing on the East Coast of Sri Lanka, I engage with wildlife officers, farmers, fishermen and monks, all of who play an integral role in ensuring the continued protection and utilization of these working landscapes. My intentions are to develop a series of integrated programmes which will allow wildlife to thrive and a space in which local communities can have a greater sense of environmental stewardship.Present commitments include Executive Director of the Lanka Environment Fund (LEF), Co-Founder and Director of the Parrotfish Collective, Evaluator of the Best Sustainability Awards at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce's Best Corporate Citizen Awards, Trustee of the Federation of Environmental Organizations (FEO), Sri Lanka and Co-Chair of the Mangrove Conservation & Sustainable Livelihoods (MCSL) Forum.
