A major interest was in understanding the earliest steps of cancer development at the cell and molecular level and develop new methods to identify and evaluate early detection biomarkers .

As a part of the translational research team at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI), NUS, my work focused on companion diagnostics, in an attempt to improve treatment responses by identifying and predicting patient subpopulations most likely to respond to a specific therapy.In the workflow, I have been using public databases, NGS techniques and patient-derived xenograft models for the identification and clinical validation of predictive and prognostic biomarkers in solid tumours (gastric, lung). I also investigated epigenetic alterations and its implication in oncogenic signaling.
