Leading the design & development of: Thermit Spark IGNITER for ignition of thermit mixture during welding of rails (Indian Patent filing is under progress) Thermit Steel Chemistry for higher strength rail steel joints such as 110 UTS, 90 UTS Working towards the development of Mould Sealing Paste to hold the Thermit Steel during joining of rail Steel Monitoring establishment of R&D Unit for rail steel joints by Thermit Steel and getting approvals from D.S.I.R Spearheading process improvements in Thermit Steel rail joining and its related equipment like oxy-fuel burners, rail track welding equipment for Thermit Welds Development of Fatigue testing laboratory for Alumino Thermit welding of rails along with rolling contact loading. Collaborated with CSIR-SERC Chennai and R.D.S.O Lucknow for fatigue testing of Alumino thermit weld rails.

In this organization, I have been leading the preparation of Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) for Greenfield Integrated Steel Plant of 0.6 MTPA capacity and related approvals from various Government agencies. I have also been managing the selection of steel making technology and process for Greenfield Integrated Steel Plant, generating Project Due Diligence and Feasibility Report for acquisition of Brownfield Pig Iron Plant of capacity 0.2 MTPA, bidding for iron ore mines in e-auction as per major mineral auction rule-2015 (MMDR ACT 2015), and formulating strategic plans, objectives, standard operating procedures (SOPs) to effectively utilize resources. Here, I successfully completed in-house beneficiation feasibility studies in laboratory and pilot scale for optimizing the process and plant layout that resulted in 5% reduction in the capital cost estimation of around INR 3000 Cr while preparing TERF (0.6MPTA Integrated Steel Plant). I also brought down purchase value of brown field 0.2 MPTA pig iron plant from banker value around INR 250 Cr to INR 140 Cr through due diligence process.

I saw a steady growth path while in this organization. As the manager here, I looked after the Quality Control team for defect analysis to meet customer satisfaction levels, and prepared mechanical testing equipment maintenance and its yearly calibration on steel chemistry and hot rolling temperature for better mechanical properties. I also led quality activities and scientific services at Iron and Steel making and hot strip mill, Reduction of Ridge defect project, product quality enhancement efforts at HSM and Cold Rolling Mill (CRM), and coordinated Process Audit and improvement in Hot rolling.
