Vinuja Shanthasoruban is a Tamil-Canadian producer, actor, and comedian who is passionate about uplifting underrepresented voices and increasing their access to the entertainment industry. She holds a diploma in Broadcast Television from Seneca College and a certificate in Social Media Marketing from George Brown College.Presently, Vinuja works with Neshama Entertainment to conceptualize, develop and pitch Thriller, Horror and True Crime projects for Tubi. At Archipelago Productions, she managed a slate of 17 projects ranging from short-form comedy to feature-length drama. She has successfully secured funding, created sales materials, evaluated submissions, and overseen production and exhibition for various projects. Some of her notable credits include Last Shot, a short film funded by Caribbean Tales and selected for Reelworld and Beyond the Short Film Festival, and Degrees of Separation, an IPF proof of concept for an Indigenous heist story, in partnership with Fae Pictures. She also uses her skills in video editing, creative development, and social networking to support the sales and branding of Archipelago Productions. Aside from producing, Vinuja is also an actor and stand-up comedian who enjoys performing and creating content that reflects her identity and experiences as a Tamil-Canadian woman. She strives to remove the gatekeeping and red tape in the entertainment industry, giving marginalized individuals more opportunities and representation.
