As one of the most senior members of our group I have trained approximately 20 new hires and no employee has been able to master the structure of our database as quickly as Violet. Within months of being hired she was handling issues usually reserved for employees who had been on the team for a year or more. Additionally she took a great interesting in the coding opportunities at our company and came to me several times looking to learn the most advanced topics we work with. Ultimately Violet has been a great coworker and trainee. She completes her tasks thoroughly and efficiently. Her collaboration skills have been excellent and made group projects easier and our output stronger. Most importantly she has been enthusiastic to learn and master our most technical coding and system related issues, which has benefited the team, and her immensely. I believe she will be an excellent fit in the BU Computer Science department, as she will spur growth in herself and any fellow student she encounters. Violet enjoys being self-sufficient and often looks to solve problems on her own. She will research topics in depth in order to find the solution she is looking for. This can occasionally cause her to duplicate work, which could be answered by a peer. While she does collaborate well, it is not in her nature to burden someone with her work related issues, even if it is not truly a burden. Violet is an extremely hard worker and I know she will succeed with whatever career path she chooses. I know she has chosen to continue her education in Computer Science because of the overwhelmingly positive experiences she has had working in a technical and programming focused job. I fully support her decision to continue her education and I know she will tackle her classes and workload with enthusiasm and determination."
