About Violeta Tsenova
I am an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in cultural heritage, design, public history, and film. I am currently a Research Fellow at StoryLab, Anglia Ruskin University. Previously I woked as a postdoctoral researcher withhe Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg. Beforehand, I completed my PhD at Newcastle University for which I explored the (many) intersection(s) between Human-Computer Interaction design and the means for interpreting and communicating history, heritage, and personal narratives at cultural sites. Current research interests and focus:1) participatory design and history making intersections - building skills and capacities for democratic action.2) sustainable communities.3) 360 immersive storytelling.4) feminist theory in digital design.

I was a member of the newly established Interaction Lab. The Interaction Lab is an Research & Development unit aiming to build Cooper Hewitt's audiences by proposing new ways of interacting with them. I worked closely with the Lab director in prototyping possible new systems for interpreting the museum collection. I specifically engaged with developing a test-system called Storybase system along-side researching the museum’s existing interactive experience - the Pen. I worked on prototyping for Storybase, content creation, visitors' evaluation, data analysis and future strategies development.This fellowship is also a case study in my PhD research with upcoming academic publications.
