Providing legal solutions, either through traditional means or technology, has always been the driving force behind my legal career. I like to describe myself as a highly resourceful and astute lawyer whose diligence and commitment to work continually demonstrate my passion for the Law. I have worked with regulatory/compliance agencies and have undertaken corporate listings and incorporations for local and international companies. I started my legal career working in a technology company that provides electronic solutions for the legal industry. My role included analyzing court judgments using Navicat software, conducting in-depth research, and training judges, lawyers, and law students on the use of Law Pavilion (legal software). I moved to a pan African mid-tier law firm where I worked on commercial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and company restructuring. I also acted as company secretary to board and annual general meetings of companies, undertook corporate due diligence, drafted and reviewed contracts, registered trademarks, and actively participated in business development. In my time with the law firm, I received an “Exemplary Leadership Award” in recognition of my dedication and ability to serve as a role model to other staff members. I went on to work as the legal manager in an investment company with diverse interests in fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, real estate, oil and gas servicing (down-stream), and Aqua/Agriculture. I also served as the data protection manager tasked with monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation. I worked with the human resource department to draw up data protection policies and facilitated training sessions for employees. I recognition of my contributions to the company, I was given an award at the end of my first year. While I have had a robust law practice, my area of expertise is corporate commercial, company secretarial, and regulatory advisory services.
