Meet Violet Kiss, the co-owner of Produce Magic Software. She is a well-seasoned professional sales engineer with decades of listening, learning, sharing, and aiding others to their own successes. She has recently semi-retired but is very reachable to help with understanding their software for the fresh produce industry. Violet has contributed several trade articles throughout her career as well as participated in trade forums live and online. It is adamant that she is involved with her prospective customers from the initial contact through all of the live demos, phone calls, contract signings, etc. She doesn’t just get a customer; she gets a friend.Her Hungarian parents escaped socialism in 1946 and were fortunate to be sponsored to Detroit soon after WWII as her father was a degreed engineer. Being a first-born Hungarian American with humble beginnings, she has always lived and used her version of the “KISS” principle: Keep it simple, ‘self’. As a young kid, she did not learn English until she was 7. Her classmates made fun of her, but that only pushed her. She was the tall outsider who became one of the top in her class throughout school from sheer determination. Her calling was to be forthright, persistent, and an advocate for others. Violet Kiss was first an advocate for her son. She was told he would probably never talk or learn. That did not sit well. She became her son’s teacher, best friend, playmate, speech therapist, whatever he needed, she was there. But especially, she was his main and tough advocate to get him what he needed no matter what. Today her son is a tall, strong autistic adult who is language-impaired but speaks and has learned good skills. He has become a good athlete in swimming and bowling with Special Olympics and in Miracle League Softball in Scottsdale. And following in his mother's footsteps, he is a player AND a volunteer with the Miracle League in Scottsdale. Yes, she is proud of him just as she has been proud of mentoring high school girls in the past, running a local Rotary for years, and volunteering with other charities.Violet Kiss will always be the person to say, “You say you can’t? I say you can. If in time you think you haven’t, look back and see where you started. Then you may go further, maybe not. But you surely tried.” Violet is her father’s daughter, half engineer, half artist just like him. Today’s semi-retirement brings her to her other passions (besides her son, sports, and people) of lapidary work with metals, gems and stones into jewelry and mixed media, and writing. Oh, yes, and still learning…
