About Violet Lemay

Violet Lemay has illustrated nearly 50 books, mostly for children, 7 of which she also wrote. Her most recent #book, "Alithia Ramirez Was an Artist" is a picture book biography of one of the student victims of the 2022 mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. (All author proceeds funded an art scholarship in Alithia's name.) "Let's Be Friends", won the BookFest award for diversity in children's books. Publishers include HarperCollins, Random House, Penguin, Scholastic, Holt, and, most recently, Michael Sampson Books. Violet is also the co-founder of Alithia's Art Angels, which celebrates the life and art of #Uvalde victim Alithia Ramirez and the art of all children.
