Viorel Otgon received his master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Valencia in September 2016. Previously he obtained a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valencia, the last year being coursed at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Helsinki, Finland).He has started his professional activities during his studies. On February 2015 he joined the R&D Department of the company FYLA LASER. His main functions were hardware/firmware development and photonics product characterization. He has actively participated in product development and quality projects and was the inventor of several patents. His research work in photonics has been published in more than 5 international conferences.During his career, he has been awarded different grants and attended several courses in photonics area: "International School on Light Sciences and Technologies" (Santander, Spain), “International Training School on Fiber Lasers and Optical Fiber Technology” (Prague, Czech Republic) and "WINTER SCHOOL FIBER LASERS & OPTICAL FIBER TECHNOLOGY" (Lausanne, Switzerland)After a bit more than three years as an Electronic Engineer at FYLA, he transitioned to the Operations Department, first as Supply Chain and Quality Manager, and since January 2023, as Director of the Operations Area where he oversees all operational aspects, including production, supply chain management, quality control, and process optimization. His main tasks are focused on ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, timely delivery of products, and adherence to quality standards while striving for continuous improvement and innovation in operations.
