I completed my summer internship as a Software Development Engineer Intern in Microsoft, in the Immersive Visualizations (Ivy) team in Microsoft Office. My summer internship project included developing new Chart Types using the Chart Engine developed in Ivy. Some of the charts have already been integrated by different clients of Ivy and the rest will be integrated in the near future. Salient features related to the project included developing an algorithm to find the closest packing of circles with different radii, finding the minimum bounding circle enclosing the packed circles, optimizing various charts in terms of their output geometries to provide the best possible performance in case of big data.
