The Spice Council serves as the central forum for consensus building among Producers, Exporters, Processors, Dealers and others involved in Spices and Allied Products, to promote high standards of business conduct and to ensure the ability of all Sri Lankan Spices and Allied Products Industry segments to compete effectively and profitably in the Spices and Allied products markets at home and abroad.

Founded in 2002, SDS spices is a family owned full-service spice company. We grow, source, process and export all spices, organic and non-organic, unique to the isle of Sri Lanka. Our Estates and Warehouse are located in Kosgoda and Ahungalle in the beautiful southern coast in the heart of the Cinnamon growing regions in Sri Lanka.Our factory located in Kosgoda integrates production and packaging equipment lines with food engineering and safety standards. We offer packaging in various sizes and shapes for our spices. From the traditional Cinnamon bales and bulk bags, down to small bottles & packs with few ounces. We export to over 20 countries around the world and take great pride in our long term relationships with our clientele.

SaaraLabs is a subsidiary of SDS Spices, founded with one goal: to better understand the spices, herbs and fruits available in Sri Lanka, in order to harness their goodness to create natural solutions for the health needs of consumers worldwide. We provide high-quality herbs, certified organic ingredients and standardized extracts. We are currently working towards developing a clinically researched innovative extract, that will enable our partners to deliver on the consumer promise of healthy products with marketable claims.

Founded in 1931, Sherman Sons is one of the oldest companies in Sri Lanka, with a history of 90 years. It was one of the largest exporters of Rubber, spices, and coconut products in Sri Lanka. Subsequent to the restructuring of the company in 2004, the parent company acts as an asset management entity.

MTD Walkers PLC, is one of the Sri Lanka’s largest infrastructure and engineering groups owned by a leading Malaysian based infrastructure development company MTD Capital. The Company is engaged in multi-disciplinary engineering activities and in manufacturing such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Power Generation.Instrumental in acquiring, consolidating, and turning around a number of small to medium sized investments in the industry, which resulted in the creation of one of the largest engineering groups in Sri Lanka. I played a pivotal role in creating and executing the strategy that turned around each of these companies held under the Walkers group.

Joined Asia Capital PLC as an Investment Analyst and worked in all areas of Corporate Finance analyzing different businesses and building financial models and writing reports for clients covering areas such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Restructuring of Businesses, Financial due diligence studies and valuations Promoted to Assistant Vice President of the Corporate Finance division in January 2007. Successfully took on the role as the Head of the Investment Promotion and Business Development team. Developed strong client liaison skills and enduring relationships through frequent high level client contact and developed essential skills in analyzing legal documents in private equity takeovers. Furthermore I developed an excellent knowledge in listing rules of the Colombo Stock Exchange through my work at Asia Capital.
