Vira TUM, serving as the Executive Director of HelpAge Cambodia, brings 15 years of dedicated service to the organization. He has led and contributed support older people from grassroots level to the national level, in areas such as health, income security, climate and disaster risk management, social protection, and policy advocacy for older Cambodians. Vira has supported the government through the role of Technical Advisor to the Secretariat of the Cambodia National Committees for Older People. He participates in several technical working groups related to ageing works and actively facilitate several researches, review and development of many national policies and guideline related to ageing. Vira has been instrumental in renovating grassroots-level community-based organizations, including the Older People’s Association (OPA). He led the process of establishing and supporting the Cambodia Ageing Network (CAN), the national platform advocating for and representing the interests of older people. He initiated the Yeay Ta Digital project aims to ensure that older people can access and utilize technology to benefit their livelihoods and daily lives.Vira, a holder of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, has continuously expanded his skill set throughout his professional journey. His participation in numerous regional and international trainings and conferences has further enriched his understanding of policy frameworks related to aging.Beyond his professional commitments, Vira has high interest in local entrepreneurship and serves on voluntarily basis as board of directors of local entrepreneur association and several local businesses.
