As the lead EMT on Basic Life-Saving Ambulance, I acted as the primary care provider in the pre-hospital setting and was responsible for all aspects of care provided to our patients. My duties included being prepared to provide basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, the administration of medicine, and use of the automatic defibrillator. This work experience challenged me to use critical thinking skills in unpredictable and stressful environments while maintaining clear communication with patients, family members, and other health care providers as necessary to ensure patient safety.

As the EMT on an Advanced Life-Saving Ambulance, I assisted the Paramedic in providing care in the pre-hospital setting. I also ensured that the patients were transported to the Emergency Department of local hospitals in an expedient but safe manner. My duties included being prepared to provide basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, the administration of medicine, and use of the automatic defibrillator. This work experience challenged me to use critical thinking skills in unpredictable and stressful environments while maintaining clear communication with patients, family members, and other health care providers as necessary to ensure patient safety.

My duties included transporting patients home from the hospital, or to and from appointments or examinations from home settings including the nursing home and hospice. This position required good decision-making, clear communication, and an attentive bedside manner as patients in my care were often enduring life situations that led them to feel vulnerable or frustrated.

As the assistant to the General Manager, I helped with the hiring process of new team members, new member training and quality control of equipment. I was also made sure to communicate any problems to the general manager and completed required daily and weekly paperwork, keeping documents up to date.

As General Manager, it was my responsibility to ensure all regulations were enforced, daily goals were met, the complete team was being developed and trained, and the restaurant was safe and secure for the employees and the customers.
