I started my career in the United States Army as a pharmacy technician. I worked for Boudreaux's Compounding Pharmacy where I learned many skills. Civilian life took me into a career in home medical equipment. Started working for the same company my father had equipment with. After 7 years, my manager and I left to start off a durable medical equipment company from the ground up for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. While being a member of the Army Reserves, I was activated for the war with Afghanistan. Lake Charles Memorial Hospital sold it during the time I was away on duty. By then I was a combat medic with the Army. Lake Charles Memorial Hospital hired me back as a bio-medical technician and I went to McNeese University for my B.S. in Nursing with the encouragement of my wife. I retired from the United States Army during this time. After receiving my B.S.N., I went to work for W.O. Moss Regional Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. After 4 years, services were cut and my medical-surgical floor was shut down. I was hired by Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for their outpatient surgical department in which I currently am employed. During my stay as a staff registered nurse, I have been awarded the Rosie Thompson Award, which is given to 6 employees out of 2000 each year for excellence.
