Responsible for Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning capacity building, and ensuring research outcomes and programme impact in Hong Kong and in more than a dozen country offices across Asia.I develop and communicate new empirical evidence from our programmes and applied research that helps improve the effectiveness of programme designs through project evaluations, after-action reviews, and other forms of action research. I establish and provide the social impact and KPI tracking data infrastructure for all service projects and engage effectively with programme managers to design information products and integrate research activities with programme delivery.Project 1) Responsible Data Management - Working in collaboration with other Save the Children colleagues, UN OCHA and other agencies, I supported the drafting of the first IASC Guidelines on Responsible Data Management. I also co-authored the first open-access training course on Responsible Data Management for humanitarian workers.Project 2) Research Quality Assurance- Conducted or supervised quality on more than 20 Evaluation Studies assessing Save the Children’s projects across Asia. This included developing evaluation methodologies and planning documents with reference to the DAC evaluation criteria. This involved work with numerous academic contractors and research and evaluation staff in mainland China, Hong Kong and in various locations in South East Asia to validate or inform a revision of our project models.

I established the country office's grants management systems through a process of change management, including development and introduction of new project management tools, procedures, and staff to reinforce project cycle and results-based management practices. In doing so I ensured all donor reporting met compliance, quality, and deadline requirements. I provided leadership and primary contributions to the development of all new project grant proposals, including extensive qualitative and quantitative research and consultation with stakeholders for quality control. After leading the growth of Syria Relief's financial base from 6 major projects and donors to 13 and increasing annual revenue by more than 5 million USD in new project funding I was promoted to Head of Programmes. In this capacity I supervise the work of 11 project managers and 3 humanitarian sector managers including civil engineers, medical doctors, agronomists, and social workers. I protect and build relations with funding partners, ensuring quality communication, reporting, and execution of project activities. I co-plan all project activities with my expert team and monitoring and evaluation staff, working closely with other department managers. I oversee the drafting of all new project proposals and lead negotiation of new partnership contracts and budgets. I am responsible for overall quality control and overseeing all aspects of project management in the operations department. In this role I have developed numerous new project development and management tools as well as organization policy documents and supported building the capacity of my national staff while using their talent and subject expertise at every opportunity. In my work I have helped the organization weather challenging times and pushed it's strategic growth into more sustainable types of humanitarian response, aiming to reduce the risk of aid exhaustion, market dumping, inflation, and apathy inside Syria. Through example of these successes I continue to lead all programmatic matters in the largest Syrian NGO responding to the humanitarian crisis in Northern Syria, directly aiding approximately 700,000 vulnerable people in the year 2015 alone.During my work with Syria Relief I enabled the organization to work as a subcontractor for UN Agencies FAO and OCHA and enter new partnerships with Save the Children, World Vision, Global Communities, ACTED, Relief International, CARE, and others and wrote successful grant proposals to OFDA, DFATD, and others.

As head of relief programs operations in an implementing NGO I oversaw and supported the work of four program managers overseeing education, primary healthcare, child protection and gender based violence prevention, water sanitation and hygiene, non-food item distribution, and food security and livelihoods projects in Syria with annual expenditures of over 16 million dollars. These projects protect the lives and well-being of hundreds of thousands of innocent victims of the Syrian conflict. I led the development of funds-winning proposals and reporting to donor agencies, acting as a liaison to project partners. I also coordinated project management and procedure reforms inside Syria Relief to assist its rapid growth as an organization and oversaw the management of all projects in the five program areas, reporting directly to the Head of Mission.

I established an internship program to expand staff resources and managed a conference on the role of education in poverty eradication. In my role of making our work known to the public I facilitated workshops and hosted various public information seminars.
