Several stages of testing and rollout were identified with a time budget for each stage and specific goals. The position, as part of a university outreach program, included the translation of design drawings, produced by the drafting staff, into numeric control programs for several sheet metal punches. The establishment of the processes and training programs needed to seamlessly automate the punch programming became part of my job following the recognition of the problems involved.
